I'm going

back to Cambodia!

I'm going back to Cambodia to teach girls, who have been rescued from sex trafficking, how to cut hair and become hairstylists.

I leave for Cambodia, Jan 31st, 2016 and I’m super excited to see my girls who I had the pleasure of training two years ago. Most of these girls were in danger of being sold by their mom or dad until Rapha House took them in.

For those of you who may not know, two years ago I went to Cambodia on a missions trip to train girls who had been rescued from sex trafficking how to cut hair. After training them, we went to Rapha House Kids Club which is where I met my beautiful precious Sampors. My family now sponsors her, and my daughter calls her “My Sister,” When I met Sampors for the first time, my heart melted. I can’t wait to see her again in person.

Ultimately, going back means more than just teaching girls how to cut hair. Going back demonstrates to the girls that they have value and that they still matter to me.  Returning to these girls will also allow me to tell them in person the difference they have made in my life and my childrens’ lives.

I’m lucky to get to spend another two weeks with my girls with whom I’ve invested time and forged a personal relationship over the past two years. I’d love to show them that they matter to not just me, but to the many people who will support me with funds, prayers and donated goodies. Not everyone can travel to Cambodia, but if you can invest in me, whether it is a large or small amount, I will bring God’s love, my expertise, and many life-changing memories to not only my girls, but to you and myself as well. The cost for this trip and the associated expenses is $6,500.00. I am asking for your help to not only meet this amount, but hopefully to exceed it. Any donations beyond my personal expenses will go towards gifts and needs of the girls themselves.

Trafficking is not just an issue that happens to people in other countries.

The United States is a source and transit country, and is also considered one of the top destination points for victims of child trafficking and exploitation.

Cases of human trafficking have been reported in all 50 U.S. States; anyone can be trafficked regardless of race, class, education, gender, age, or citizenship when forcefully coerced or enticed by false promises.

Once a child is removed from her family, the trafficker often confiscates her identification papers and takes her to an unknown location.

There she may be drugged and forced into prostitution, pornography, or menial servitude.

Often the child is beaten, raped, and locked up with little hope of escape.

Calling all Stylists:

I would love to invite stylists all over the country to join me during the week of October 18th - 24th 2015. If we have every stylist donate just $1 per service, imagine how many girls lives could be positively affected. To have stylists helping stylists move from slavery to freedom is so Awesome!!!
